Annual Senate Fundraiser Report

This year, ASUW Senate decided to raise funds that would support the Husky Pride Fund. Senate leadership believed that selling a modified version of the Husky Pride Fund Shirt (with an added ASUW Senate modification on the back of the shirt) would be the best way to donate to the cause. Thanks to the generosity of our Session XVI Senators, Senate raised $103.54 in proceeds that will support the Husky Pride Fund.

First Readings Next Week

OA-16-4, “An Organic Act to make Rules Suspensions Debatable”

This Organic Act would add a clause in our Senate Rules to make it debatable if a Senator moves to suspend the rules for the purpose of moving a piece of legislation from first readings directly to second readings.

OA-16-5 “An Organic Act to Increase the Options for Debate in Senate”

This piece of legislation creates a motion to debate something that is currently not debatable according to our Parliamentary Procedure. Secondly, it creates a motion “call for intent” when someone has made a motion to suspend the rules.

OA-16-6, “An Organic Act Regarding Elections for Committee Chairs”

This Organic Act would change elections for Committee chairs to be by Senate instead of electing each the Chair in Committee.
